"Garden Song" Marta

Store Exclusive for Toy Village, Lansing, MI - 1990

Marta is a fitting tribute to Toy Village's thirtieth anniversary. (How many stores do you know that have provided continuous service excellence under the same ownership for thirty years?) Toy Village is known for the beautiful gardens that surround the shop. It certainly follows that when they decided to celebrate with a Lawtons Exclusive they chose to present a Garden Song to collectors.

Marta is as welcome as a gentle June morning in her ruffled sunbonnet and pinafore in delicate Swiss eyelet, trimmed with baby pink silk ribbon. Her strikingly black frock, sprinkled with pink roses, is the perfect counterpoint to her starchy summer whites. Marta is 13" tall and is made entirely of porcelain with blonde hair and gray eyes.

Brita/Tea Party

Store Exclusive for Toy Village, Lansing, MI - 1993

Brita, a charming original by Wendy Lawton, is brand new and available only from Toy Village. Blonde, blue-eyed Brita is hosting an afternoon tea party, dressed in a delicate frock of rose tissue taffeta trimmed with matching cluny lace, imported from Europe. Brita, all-porcelain and standing 14" tall, holds a delicate porcelain teacup, decorated with pink forget-me-nots, made especially for her by Reutter-Sacks of Germany.

Kitty

Store Exclusive for The Toy Store, Toledo, OH - 1994

Kitty is a freckle-faced darling dressed in an all-black cat costume. She carries a Halloween pumpkin all ready for her trick-or-treat goodies. She is all-porcelain and stands 14" tall.

Store Exclusive for Toy Village, Lansing, MI - 1994

Morgan, wearing a bright floral dress with a brilliant blue sash, carries a basket full of fruit. Her beautiful brown ringlets surround her brown-eyed face. A straw hat and navy shoes complete her ensemble. Morgan is all-porcelain and stands 14" tall.

Lilly Anne

Store Exclusive for Toy Village, Lansing, MI - 1996

Made exclusively for Toy Village by the Lawton Doll Company, Lilly Anne is a vision in a vanilla tissue taffeta drop waist dress with row after row of lace edged tucks.

Her three button black leather boots fit her foot like a glove. In her arms she cradles her beloved stuffed rabbit.

She doesn't know why, but he has always been her favorite toy - could it be because of his wise expression or is it because he is so soft with his doe-skin suede and pink satin ears? She is 14" tall, all-porcelain.

Karen and her Cornhusk Doll

Karen's Dolls & Collectibles, Lincoln, NE - 1998

Karen and her Cornhusk Doll is a 14" all-porcelain doll with strawberry blonde hair and soft grey eyes. Karen comes with her own cornhusk doll, made in the Lawton workshops.

Hannah, The Milliner's Daughter

Toy Village, Lansing, MI - 1998

Hannah is the first Toy Village doll ever issued on a wooden body. She is a 14" fully articulated doll with a porcelain head and hands on a spring-jointed wooden body. Her sparkly hazel eyes are stunning against her long blonde hair. Her dress and matching tam are of a delicate pink dupion silk trimmed in French lace. She wears stylishly cobbled black leather ankle boots and carries hatbox, just like the ones used to store her mother's famous millinery.

Elizabeth Hill

Toy Village, Lansing, MI - 2000

Elizabeth Hill--made exclusively for Toy Village of Lansing, Michigan, by The Lawton Doll Company-- is 14" tall with porcelain head and hands on a hand-carved, jointed wooden body. Her blue-checked silk frock the epitome of 1870 chic. She has dark brown hair and blue eyes and wears a tiny cameo necklace. A framed copy of her sampler and a wooden chair come with Elizabeth Hill.
