Grand Duchess Anastasia Nicholaievna - 1998 Edition of 250 Retail Price $795 The story of Anastasia Romanov continues to intrigue us more than eighty years since the tragic fall of imperial Russia. Aside from the mystery surrounding her death, her short life was a triumph. Recently her photographs, drawings and letters have come to light, giving us an intimate glimpse at the funny, artistic, sensitive girl who was the Grand Duchess Anastasia Nicholaievna. The auburn-haired Anastasia has been issued in a limited edition doll with a porcelain head and hands on a hand-carved, spring-jointed wooden body. She is dressed in pink dupion silk with a striped silk chiffon overlay trimmed in silk piping. Her pearl encrusted headpiece is of a crinkled iridescent silk to match her sash. She wears pink leather shoes. Anastasia is 16" tall. |

The Young Elizabeth I - 2008 18” portrait with a porcelain torso, head and arms on hand-carved, spring-jointed wooden lower body Elizabeth reigned as Queen of England for 45 years, displaying strength and devotion as she united her country following the tumultuous years after the death of her father, Henry the Eighth. Wendy Lawton chose the young Elizabeth for this portrait doll. She is dressed in a heavy gown of cranberry silk satin over a petticoat and undersleeve of silk brocade, reminiscent of the William Scrots painting of The Princess Elizabeth (1546). The exquisite gown is trimmed with gilt braid encrusted with pearls. Elizabeth’s eyes are dark brown and her hair that famous reddish gold. |
